| The hay sweating bath has a centuries-old tradition in the Alps. In natural medicine for relief of pain hay flowers are used with great success (hay flower).
The traditional hay bath was carried out on half-dehydrated hay floors after the hay harvest. By the fermentation of the half-dehydrated hay a heat of about 60° C developed. The heat effect promoted the transpiration and evaporation of sweat. The sweat bath with the hay bag on the hot stone surfaces has the same effects like the sweat bath on the haystack. The heat stimuli, the transpiration of the skin is properly set in motion. This is particularly helpful in circulatory and metabolic disorders. The essential oils of the herbs also enhance the healing process and relieve the pain. They are reliable, natural remedies for the treatment of regulatory disorders. The hay flowers are a mixture of dried grasses, flowers and medicinal herbs. |
